Manufacturing gains in 4 states key for $5 trillion economy goal: SBI report

The top four GDP contributors would be Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka. The SBI research states that the manufacturing sector’s share should rise from its present 15% to 22%. Outstanding bank credit must increase from its current level of 118 lakh crore to 276 lakh crore for India to become the world’s third-largest economy by FY28.

Apple supplier Foxconn intends to at least quadruple the size of its operations in India within the next two years. Ashwini Vaishnaw said that at least 6,000 tribal women who live close to Ranchi and Hazaribagh have received training to build iPhones. Apple had outsourced the production of iPhone enclosures in India to the Hosur plant of Tata Electronics.

Startups in the nation may be exempted from certain provisions of the revised data protection bill to reduce their compliance burden. A regulatory “sandbox” for startups might be included in the new bill, allowing them to function for a while without being subject to its provisions.

Mills in states like UP sell around 5 lakh tonnes of sugar export quota at premium

Praful Vithalani said that the sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chattisgarh lack access to adjacent ports for exports, which raises the cost of transportation. He continued by saying that due to the increase in sugar prices around the world, mills have sold at a premium of between Rs 2,500 and 4,000 per tonne.

Brazil exported 406 thousand cars in the first ten months of 2022, a rise of 32.4% from the same time in 2021. The amount of harmful emissions from new vehicles sold in Australia would be restricted by new fuel standards. According to the Climate Council, more needs to be done to support Australia’s transition to zero-emission transport. Ms. King said that noxious emissions standards and higher fuel quality will lead to better air quality and better health outcomes.
